ALO ARK · Terms of Service

Effective date: July 21, 2026 (interim) · Amended September 29, 2026 · These terms govern aloark.com and the ALO ARK platform, operated by Alo Ark Technologies Inc. (Alberta, Canada), Alberta, Canada.

1. The deal, plainly

ALO ARK is a network where professionals in motion build evidence-based profiles, find each other, and get discovered by verified businesses. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use ALO ARK.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be 16 or older and provide accurate information. One account per person. You're responsible for your account's security; tell us immediately at security@aloark.com if it's compromised. Businesses must verify a company email domain and may only use ALO ARK to genuinely evaluate and contact talent, not to harvest data (see §9).

3. Membership tiers

  • Free: always available. Core profile, directory presence, receiving intro requests.
  • Plus ($6.99/mo), Pro ($14.99/mo), Premier ($24.99/mo): paid tiers that add tools. A fully completed profile earns Plus free for a season: a set number of months locked in at signup (founding members lock in six), renewing monthly while your profile stays current and you respond to intro requests within 90 days. If the earned season lapses, your account simply returns to Free; you are never delisted for not paying.
  • Student (free): live from launch, with automatic school-email verification, at no cost for as long as you're enrolled; it carries First Season by ALO ARK.
  • Prices may change with 30 days' notice; changes never apply retroactively to a paid-up period.

4. The visibility promise

Money never buys visibility on ALO ARK. Paid tiers add tools; they do not and will not affect search ranking, ordering, or discovery for members or businesses. Search and discovery run on relevance, merit, and availability.

5. Your profile & your content

You own what you upload: profile content, answered questions, video introductions, work samples ("artifacts"), and Build Teams listings. You grant ALO ARK a non-exclusive license to host and display that content to operate the service, ending when you delete it or close your account (except records law requires us to keep).

The one hard rule on artifacts: only upload work you have the right to share. Don't upload a former employer's confidential or proprietary material. You're responsible for what you post; see the Copyright & IP Policy for how infringement claims are handled.

Visibility: you control who sees your profile (everyone / verified businesses only / hidden), and quiet search goes further: name the companies, email domains, and people who should not find you, and your profile leaves their view entirely. Freshness: profiles with stale availability or unanswered intro requests may be automatically hidden (never deleted) until refreshed; this keeps "everyone here is reachable" true. Portability: your Evidence Passport gives you self-serve export of your verified record, as a document and as data, plus private share links that carry only the sections you choose; anyone holding a live link can read those sections without an account, and every link is yours to revoke in one tap. 6. References

References appear only after the referring person confirms via their own email. References reflect the views of the person giving them, not of ALO ARK. The person who gave a reference can withdraw it at any time, using their personal confirmation link or by emailing support@aloark.com, and it will be removed from the profile. To dispute a reference on your profile, contact support@aloark.com; we may remove references that are fraudulent, defamatory, or violate these terms.

7. Build Teams

Members may list projects they're building, name the roles they need, and accept applications from other members. Understand clearly:

  • ALO ARK is a venue, not a party. We are not an employer, recruiter, agent, or partner in any project, and we do not vet, guarantee, or supervise projects or collaborators.
  • Every listing must declare its arrangement upfront: paid, equity, volunteer, or exploratory. Listings with vague or misleading arrangements may be removed.
  • Any agreement you reach with another member is between you and them: get it in writing, and get real legal advice for equity arrangements. Disputes between members are between members.
  • No employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship is created by using ALO ARK.

8. Intro requests & contact

Contact details are never exposed raw. Businesses and members request introductions through the platform; the recipient decides. An accepted introduction opens a private message thread on the platform; your email and phone move only when you choose to share them. Using ALO ARK to spam, harass, or mass-solicit is prohibited.

9. Acceptable use

No: false identities or credentials; scraping, bulk export, or automated harvesting of profiles; discrimination or harassment; uploading content you lack rights to; misrepresenting a Build Teams arrangement; using business access for anything other than genuine hiring evaluation; interfering with the service's security or operation. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable.

10. Copyright & IP complaints

11. Payments, gifts, cancellation (applies when paid tiers launch)

Billing via Stripe. Cancel anytime, effective end of the billing period, through your account settings; cancellation is as easy as signup. Gift subscriptions ("pay-it-forward") apply to the recipient's account and are non-refundable once redeemed.

12. Disclaimers & liability

ALO ARK is provided "as is." We don't guarantee you'll be hired, find collaborators, or fill a role. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of $100 CAD and the amounts you paid ALO ARK in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and consumers keep every right their local law makes non-waivable, including under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.

13. Termination

You can close your account anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms. Sections that by nature survive (content licenses for retained records, disclaimers, disputes) survive.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If something goes wrong, talk to us first: hello@aloark.com reaches a human, and most problems are fixable without formality. Failing that, disputes belong to the courts of Alberta, sitting in Calgary, except that consumers may always rely on the courts and non-waivable protections of their own province, territory, or state, including Québec residents' rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

15. General terms

  • Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision is modified to the minimum extent necessary.
  • Entire agreement: these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Copyright & IP Policy are the whole agreement between you and ALO ARK about the service, superseding prior discussions.
  • Assignment: you may not assign your account or these terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or successor (e.g., on incorporation or reorganization of ALO ARK) with notice.
  • No waiver: our not enforcing a provision today doesn't waive it tomorrow.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (outages of underlying providers, disasters, government action), except payment obligations already incurred.

16. Changes

We'll post updated terms with a new effective date; material changes get notice to members, and continued use after notice is acceptance.
